
Since joining the Haven String Quartet in 2024, Patrick Doane has been an active performer with several orchestras and ensembles throughout Connecticut, including the New Haven Symphony, Hartford Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, New England Chamber Orchestra, and Orchestra New England. He also regularly gives recitals across the northeast. Prior to his move to New Haven, Patrick collaborated with esteemed groups such as the Orchestra of St. Luke's and served as concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Bronx, where he performed concertos by Tchaikovsky and Beethoven.
Patrick holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Juilliard and earned his Doctorate from The Graduate Center, CUNY. His teachers include Daniel Phillips, Sally Thomas, and Naoko Tanaka, and he has participated in masterclasses with Isaac Stern and Ruggiero Ricci. While at Juilliard, he studied chamber music with Sylvia Rosenberg and counterpoint, harmony, and composition with Philip Lasser.

Since 2017, Dr. Doane has been a dedicated teacher and performer at Music Haven in New Haven, Connecticut, guiding students from beginners to graduate level. His students have successfully continued their studies at prestigious institutions such as Juilliard, NYU, Mannes School of Music, and Walnut Hill School for the Arts. Additionally, he has served as a violin faculty member at the University of Bridgeport and the Point Counterpoint chamber music camp in Vermont.
