Bassoonist Sean Maree is Co-Principal Bassoon of the United States Coast Guard Band in
New London, CT. In addition to performing with the Band, Sean also regularly performs with
ensembles in New England including the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Hartford Symphony,
and the Eastern Connecticut Symphony. Prior to joining the Band, Sean was a regular guest with
the Pittsburgh Symphony (PA) and the Richmond Symphony (VA). He has also performed with
the Nashville Symphony (TN), Jacksonville Symphony (FL), Boston Symphony (MA) and a
production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Don Carlo with the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy
Center Opera House in Washington, DC. From 2013-2017 he was a member of the New World
Symphony under the direction of Founder and Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas in Miami
Beach, FL.
In addition to performing, Sean is a strong believer in the power of music to change lives. He has taught in schools and music programs throughout Connecticut as well as Bellingham (WA), Fairfax County (VA), Miami-Dade County (FL), Nashville (TN), and Medellin, Colombia.
