Joseph Haydn: Horn Concerto No. 1 in D, Hob. VIId:3
I. Allegro


Declan Leclair is a French Horn player currently studying at Connecticut College, where he is a member of the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Brass Quintet. He served as Principal Horn for the Connecticut College Orchestra’s tour of Japan in March 2025, performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, where he also performed with the college’s brass quintet. During the summer, Declan regularly performs with local town bands throughout central Massachusetts, including ensembles in Leominster, Ashby, Lunenburg, and Fitchburg.

Before attending Connecticut College, Declan performed with the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra and toured Germany and Austria in 2023. His performance experience also includes performing at Boston’s Symphony Hall with the Massachusetts All-State Orchestra and with the John Philip Sousa National High School Honor Band in 2022. Outside of music, Declan is an Economics major at Connecticut College and a member of the college’s track and field team.

Nick Woods is a 2025 graduate of Connecticut College, where he studied Computer Science with a minor in German. While at Conn, he played violin in the orchestra under the leadership of Shou Ping Liu, including participating in the orchestra's performance tour in Japan as co-concertmaster. Since graduating, he has been working in website development while continuing a passion for music. He is delighted to to be joining NECO for this concert series.
